Born into a catering family, it would seem that Luigi Pia was always destined for a future within the hospitality industry. Luigi started his career under the stewardship of his grandfather, working within his Chip Shop from the age of 12. This was the shop which would later be passed down to his father Silvo. When the opportunity arose to open a restaurant in early 2010, along with his mother Marisa, Luigi left the Chip Shop and from there the story of Gigi’s began.
It goes without saying that the transition from Fish & Chips to a Fully Licensed Restaurant was an enormous task. Luigi, Marisa and the team had to work extremely hard to understand their business in order for Gigi’s to be able to offer what was expected from customers looking for a premium dining experience.
Gigi’s was one of the first restaurants to open in Bonnyrigg. Since then, Bonnyrigg has seen at least another five quality restaurants open nearby. The opening of other restaurants in the area has always been welcomed by the Gigi’s team as the community continues to thrive and support their local businesses.
“On behalf of myself and all the Team, I’d like to say a massive thank you to each and every one of our customers who have shown their continued support to Gigi’s.
I’m very much looking forward to our exciting re-opening following refurbishment later this month.” – Luigi
